"I am forever grateful to the lifelong skills and friends I have made through my involvement in the Northeast Ohio Student Venture Fund. I am excited to help NEOSVF expand over the next few years and look forward to the future of NEOSVF."
Tell us about yourself.
I am currently a first-year double-major in finance and economics at the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University.
Before beginning my college career, I chose to take a gap year during which time I interned for four unique financial entities. Over the past year, I interned for a private equity firm, a venture capital firm, a big-data marketing startup as well as a healthcare startup accelerator. These experiences introduced me to the entrepreneurial world and I have only delved deeper in that sphere since beginning college this fall.
At school, in addition to my role as managing partner of the Northeast Ohio Student Venture Fund, I am an energy associate for our public investment club, The Weatherhead Fund, as well as an active member of our undergraduate economics society and club soccer team.
What advice do you have for students interested in entrepreneurial pursuits?
I believe every individual inherently has an entrepreneurial spirit. No matter what subject or industry somebody is interested in, there are problems that must be solved in the sector. Entrepreneurs solve those issues. Great businesses are made out of solving problems. Every great business provides a useful solution to pressing issues. If you are interested in starting a business, first look to problems that you wish were solved. Then all you have to do is solve that problem.
How did NEOSVF prepare you for an entrepreneurial lifestyle?
NEOSVF prepared me for an entrepreneurial lifestyle by providing me with real-world experience in due-diligence and financial modeling. Through NEOSVF, I was able to work with real entrepreneurs and businesses at an early growth stage, something that very few people are able to do during their undergraduate career. Additionally, NEOSVF has provided me with numerous networking and professional growth opportunities that have allowed me to prepare myself for my eventual goal of working in investment banking.
